Something deeply hidden behind things
Statement
Starlight dances over the reflective depths, and the water is only seen as it moves the stars. Mysteries reflecting from above, and secrets swimming below the salty surface. Flowing within and without, its transparency reflects and refracts and remains unseen as itself.
Samuel Ezra Fisch
Samuel Ezra Fisch is a fibers artist whose work explores the interplay between socio-political systems thinking and the individual’s expression of belief structures. Interactively connecting individuals with the material that they place their belief in, Fisch’s work moves beyond the object world into the subjective. After receiving his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015, Fisch co-founded Fat City Arts, an artist co-op in Chicago. Fisch taught painting and drawing at Central Oregon Community College 2017-2018. Fisch has shown his weavings in the Mary R Koch Art Center and The Marin Museum Of Contemporary Art.
