Rubén Vega Balbás
“Back-Traces (live mix)”
Also known as Rubén Vejabalbán, he is an artist, a scholar, and a polymath committed with imagination and research in the field of artistic creativity. He works on topics such as theater and philosophy, dramatic theory, technology and new media, cybernetic art, communicative devices, and pedagogy of the arts. He received his Ed.S in Education, Languages and Media from the UNSAM in Buenos Aires, and his PhD in Applied Creativity from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Actually he is part of the Nebrija ComAcAr Research Group. As a freelance technician he is specialized in staging, lighting and video projections.

Soo jin Chung, born in Seoul, Republic of Korea and working in Paris, France. She is a doctoral researcher in ‘Art science’ at the Pantheon Sorbonne Paris 1 University after obtaining the National Artist Qualification (DNAP) in France. She has exhibited her works internationally including ‘Grand Palais’ in Paris, ‘New York Expo’ in USA, ‘Florence Biennale’ in Italy, Ginza, Tokyo, and Insadong, Korea.

Asaran Jeong

Asaran Jeong is an sculptor and media artist based in Seoul, Korea. She received her BFA and MFA from Seongshin University. Asaran has participated in group exhibitions and projects.
정아사란 SNS, 미디어 플렛폼을 기반으로 하는 가상세계를 주목하고 관심을 가지고 있으며 매체와 기억, 디지털의 재생산 문제를 다룬다. 현재 성신대학교에서 MFA를 수료하였으며 다양한 단체전과 프로젝트를 통하여 작품을 전시하고 있다.
Hyunseung Lee

Hyunseung Lee is an new media artist and director. She recieved her BFA in Painting and Art History form Ewha Womans University and her MFA in Media Art from Yeonsei University. She is interested in media theories as well as new media technologies including Media-Facade, Unity, Logic pro x, 3D printing, Data visualization, Ai and Processing. She was awarded the special prize from Color Photography Competition organized by Korean Color Study Association.
이현승은 뉴미디어아티스트이자 연출가이다. 이화여대에서 미술사를 전공 후 연세대에서 미디어 아트 전공 석사를 수료하였다. 서양화 전공을 통해 미술 분야에 입문하고 미디어 아트로 분야를 옮겨 이론적 지식을 쌓아나가는 중이다. 동시에 파사드, 미학과 기술을 두 분야를 오가며 그 간의 관계를 탐구하며, 간학문적인 사람이 되기 위해 노력 중이다.
Eric Zeigler
“Underlying, Revealing The Mechanisms of the Image”
Eric Zeigler is an artist, designer, and researcher whose current work involves photography and unconventional transformation of images. He received an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, and exhibits his work nationally and internationally. Zeigler is an Assistant Professor of Art in the Department of Art at the University of Toledo. He created and runs the Art Print Center which serves as a hub for all digital artwork production by university students, faculty, and local artists.

The Institute for Aesthetic Advocacy (IAA) is a Minneapolis-based art and public advocacy collective dedicated to using interactive installations to catalyze and curate community conversations on the ethics, politics, and public health consequences of our post-digital world. “Cellular Home Invasion” is presented at CICA by founders Allison Baker (Assistant Professor of Sculpture, Hamline University) and Dr. Aaron McKain (Associate Professor of Digital Media, North Central University) and also features work by members Josh Gumiela (Hamline University) and Riley Miller.
The Institute for Aesthetic Advocacy(IAA)는 미네폴리스 기반 아트 및 공공 프로젝트 단체로 인터렉티브 설치를 통해 도덕, 정치, 포스트 디지털 세상의 결과로서의 공공의 위생 등을 주제로 지역의 대화를 도모한다. 본 행사에서 IAA의 설립자 Allison Baker (Hamline University 조소과 교수)와 Aaron McKain 박사 (North Central University디지털 미디어과 교수)는 “Cellular Home Invasion”를 주제로 프리젠테이션을 하며 그룹 맴버인 Josh Gumiela (Hamline University)와 Riley Miller의 작업을 포함한 IAA의 프로젝트들을 소개할 예정이다.

Cedric van Eenoo is an award winning artist, musician and filmmaker. He is a member of Brooklyn Arts Council and affiliated with the Artists Rights Society. Chang Eun Kim
“Digitization of Morpheme and Multimedia Sensibility”
Chang Eun Kim is an conceptual artist utilizing multimedia. He is interested in signs, (meta)languages, locations and architecture, senses and structures, and musical effects and performances. He had nine solo exhibitions and numerous group shows. He received his PhD in Painting from Hongik University, and currently works as a professor of Painting at Busan University.
김창언은 멀티미디어를 활용하여 논리의 공감각화를 실천하는 개념미술가이다. 그는 기호와 (메타)언어, 장소와 건축, 감각과 구조, 음악적 현상과 행위 등과 같은 문제들에 지속적인 관심을 기울이고 있다. 김창언의 작품에 등장하는 여러가지 기호(‘형태소’라고 재정의 됨.)들은 사적인 차원의 아이콘형 이미지이며, 점차 디지털화를 거쳐 개별적 벡터이미지로 저장된다. 이러한 기호 이미지들이 갖는 의미의 기원이나 그들이 지시하는 현상, 또한 그것들이 구축하는 방언적 체계들을 멀티미디어나 뉴미디어를 사용한 브리콜라주로 제시한다. 2000년부터 2019년 까지 9회의 개인전과 수십여 차례의 기획전에 참여하였으며, 2013년부터 부산대학교 미술학과의 서양화 전공 교수로 재직중이다.
Rui Sha
“Fixing Fragments”
Rui Sha graduated as a furniture designer, then transformed into an artist. Currently an MFA candidate in the School of Art Institute of Chicago in Art & Technology Studies and working as an interdisciplinary artist. Her works usually engage with video, performance, and objects which are fabricated in wood, fabric, the sound of nature, etc. The natural materials that she is bringing in become the carrier of emotional expression, rather than a construction frame.
Rui Sha는 가구 디자인을 전공하여 아티스트로 전향했다. 현재 School of Art Institute of Chicago에서 Art & Technology 전공으로 석사 과정에 있으며 실험적 아티스트로 활동 중이다. 그녀는 비디오, 퍼포먼스, 오브제와 나무, 천, 자연의 소리 등을 융합한 작업을 주로 하고있다. 작품에서 자연의 소재는 구조 보다는 감정적 표현의 매개로서 사용된다.
Tyler Calkin
“Gesturing Toward Small Data”
Tyler Calkin is an interdisciplinary artist and educator. He received his MFA in Art and Integrated Media from the California Institute of the Arts, and his work has been exhibited and performed in art and educational institutions around the world, including Cercle Blanc Gallery in Berlin, studio1.1 in London, Tsinghua University in Beijing, Tec de Monterrey in Mexico, Harvestworks in New York City, Centre for the Living Arts in Mobile, AL, and University of Southern California in Los Angeles. As an educator, Calkin has taught in the Art and Technology program and The Center for Integrated Media at CalArts, and is currently the head of Digital Media at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Holden Holcombe
“This Is How It Feels: A Closer Look at the Transgender Experience, Gender Stereotyping, and Social Media through Augmented Reality”
Holden Holcombe received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emerson College (2012) and his Master of Fine Arts from Tufts University (2015), and his PhD from Aberystwyth University (2019). Holcombe’s practice focuses on the place of the transgender man in respect to self, society, and perceived heteronormativity. Holcombe has exhibited his work internationally in the United States, United Kingdom and Korea using a variety of media, including video, animation, sound and experimental music. He is continuously conducting research on the impact of masculine gender role stress in transgender men and the position of transgender voices in contemporary art practice.

Karen Krolak
“Field Report From the First Year of Navigating Negative Space”
karen Krolak is a free range collaborator based in Boston, MA. Since 2000, she has been the co-founder/Artistic Director of Monkeyhouse, an award winning nonprofit that connects communities with choreography. Her embodied explorations weave in elements of text, textiles, choreography or story telling to spark dialogues that reverberate between communities. Her idiosyncratic pieces have been presented abroad in Rome, Winnipeg, and Gimpo, nationally in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Minneapolis as well as regularly throughout New England. She earned her B.A. in Linguistics at Northwestern University and her MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts at Sierra Nevada College. Much of her recent work has centered around the theme of finding physical poetry in imperfect bodies and around mourning as she grapples with the car accident that killed her mother, father, and brother. Her ongoing project the Dictionary of Negative Space has recently been awarded an I-ARE Residency at the Dance Complex in Cambridge, MA and a residency at the Newton Cemetery in Newton MA with funding from the Newton Cultural Council. It has also been featured in exhibitions in Nevada, Louisiana, Massachusetts and Korea, as well as in dance collaborations with Monkeyhouse and Scott McPheeters.

Changwoo Yoon
“Compositional Resonance from the perspective of Brain science”
Changwoo Yoon is an artist and AI (Artificial Intelligence) scientist. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida, US. Currently he is a principal researcher at ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) and professor at UST (University of Science and Technology). His current research interests include Brain Science, Artificial Intelligence, Wearable computing, and IoT. His individual direction in art is a convergence with brain science and AI technology. The initial approach to convergence is finding out the mechanism of how people see and feel through brain science and trying to apply the found facts to artwork.
윤장우는 아티스트이자 인공지능 과학자이다. 그는 University of Florida에서 컴퓨터 사이언스로 박사 학위를 취득했으며 현재 한국전자통신연구원에 재직하며 UST (University of Science and Technology) 교수로 재직 중이다. 예술에 있어서의 개인적 개념 확립의 방향성을 과학기술과의 융합으로 잡고 있으며, 현재까지 개인전, 그룹전 등에 적용하고 있다. 뇌과학을 공부하면서 인간이 본다는 것과 느끼는 것 등의 뇌과학적 메카니즘과의 관계를 파악하고 있으며, 이를 통한 사실 발견을 예술적으로 접목하는 시도를 해왔다.
