Make Something People Want
“Make Something People Want” is an evocative series of oil on linen canvas paintings that invite the viewer on an intimate journey through the emotional landscape of building a startup. Inspired by my own experiences as a female founder after our tech startup “Beau” was backed by Y Combinator — the top-tier Silicon Valley accelerator that invested early in companies such as Airbnb, Coinbase, Dropbox, and many others.
Each painting in this series depicts a significant milestone or turning point in my journey, exploring the emotional complexities of building an MVP, hiring the right team, fundraising, and dreaming big as well as opening a debate of often unspoken stigmas y stereotypes in such an attractive industry.
Through this series, I hope to shed light on the often-unspoken emotional turmoil that comes with building a startup.
The work is autobiographical in nature, depicting real-life circumstances and personal experiences. It explores the intersection between the startup world and art, highlighting the accuracy where these two seemingly disparate worlds collide. By sharing my story through these paintings, I hope to create a deeper understanding of the startup experience and inspire others to take on the challenge of entrepreneurship.
“Make Something People Want” is a testament to the power of art to inspire, connect, and illuminate the human experience and a reminder that no matter what industry we work in, we are all on a journey of growth, learning, and self-discovery.
In my artistic practice, I strive to find a balance between the reflective nature of art, rooted in past experiences, and the forward-looking world of entrepreneurship and technology, characterized by dreams and aspirations for the future. Drawing from my own life experiences, I aim to harmonize these two realms and encourage living fully in the present moment.
As an artist and co-founder of Beau, a tech startup funded by Y Combinator and notable Silicon Valley VCs and angels, my creative journey explores the interplay between art and entrepreneurship. Graduating magna cum laude with an MFA from the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, I sharpened my skills as an art director at Leo Burnett Tel Aviv, earning numerous accolades, including a Cannes Lion.
My recent work embodies my passion for melding the worlds of art, technology, and entrepreneurship. By creating a dialogue between these seemingly disparate domains, I seek to uncover the beauty of the present moment, fostering a space where creativity and innovation can truly flourish.
