My work is described as a personal expression of my surroundings and familial experiences. The paintings are often reimagined depictions of archival photos as a way to revisit my memories and recreate those images. My immediate environment influences my paintings and the patterns I observe around me add depth and symbolism to my pieces. I lost my dad in the COVID pandemic and my work serves as a means of catharsis and healing, allowing me to come to terms with loss and change. The paintings evoke a sense of familiarity and connect me to the places I call home or once called home.
