물성으로 이루어진 세상에서 물성의 몸을 갖고 태어난 우리는 움직이는 매 순간 흔적을 남기고 있다. 움직이면 흔적이 남는 사실은 본인에게 원동력이자 위안이며 스쳐 지나가는 모든 순간이 크든 작든 풍화작용으로 깎이는 돌의 가루처럼 공정하게 남는다 생각하면 조급한 마음도 편안해진다. 도자기에서 흔적의 존재는 과거의 것이지만 지금의 나를 구성해주며 본인에게는 삶에 원동력을 준다. 흙에서 손자국은 계속해서 지나가는 운동이지만 찰나가 굳어짐으로써 그 시간에 대한 기록을 흙이 라는 공간에 획득한다.
회화의 이야기는 여기서 시작된다. 본인의 흔적과 행위의 산물의 도자기를 다시 화폭에 옮겨 놓는다. 도자기는 또 하나의 흔적으로서 멈추지 않고 나아가 화면에서 연쇄작용을 만들어내고있다.
We are born into physical bodies in a world full of material possessions, and begin to leave marks with our actions. All of the movements we have made and the marks we have left will inspire you, and bring you comfort. All moments pass whether they are good or bad; they carve your life just as rocks are carved by the weather — this has been my driving force and provided me with comfort. All the process leaving imprints on soil is the past, and it leads to the present, making the result. The past adds up to make the present, and the process itself is what motivates us. The marks on the ceramic represent the traces of all of those past
actions which have become motivation leading to the present day.
And now begins the story of the painting. The imprints from the ceramic artwork representing actions have been transferred to canvas rather than simply staying as a singular art form. The chains within the pain5ting are there to tell us that our traces never stop, repeat.
일상에 크고 작은 부딪힘, 대단하지 않은 무수한 행동으로 비롯되는 흔적을 도자 작업을 통해 가시화하여 그에 대한 또 다른 가능성의 세계를 이야기하고자 한다.
We go through many hardships in our lives, taking our smallest actions leaving traces. This ceramic artwork presents both small and big movements to represent
growth and show a world of possibilities.
