OLD UTOPIA
John Milton described in ‘Lost Paradise’ that after humans who originally lived in paradise left here, they had a desire to return to paradise. Later, humans attempted to create a utopia as a substitute for paradise. However, our society, which was expected to be close to paradise, became increasingly changed into a dystopia. By expanding time and space, we exposes a section of the old utopia.
존 밀턴은 실낙원에서 원래 낙원에 살던 인간이 이곳을 떠난 이후 다시 낙원으로 회귀하려는 갈망을 갖게 되었다고 서술했다. 이후 인간은 낙원의 대체재로서 유토피아를 만들려고 시도했다. 그러나 낙원에 가까워질 줄 알았던 우리 사회는 갈수록 디스토피아의 모습으로 변절 되었다. 시간과 공간을 확장시키는 작업들로 오래된 유토피아의 단면을 폭로한다.
NimNim Project is an artist team of married couples, joined by which Seongae and Yisak. The artworks of NimNim Project closely reflects on the appearance of a dystopian society and exposes structural contradictions to consider the priorities of our lives. They also seeks the temporal and spatial expansion of flat media and adds original installation elements to induce a synesthetic experience in the exhibition hall.
님님 프로젝트는 각자 활동하던 성애 작가와 이삭 작가가 의기투합한 부부작가 팀이다. 님님 프로젝트의 작업은 디스토피아 적인 사회의 모습을 면밀히 성찰하고 구조적 모순을 폭로하여 우리 삶의 우선순위를 고민하게 한다. 또한 평면 매체의 시간적, 공간적 확장을 모색하고 독창적인 설치요소를 가미하여 전시장에서의 공감각적 체험을 유도한다.
