In the Beginning – Process of Reflection 태초에 – 성찰의 과정
In my paintings, I record the process of reflection. The processes of this work are like human life, expressing joy and sorrow, or revealing one’s will to explore. This is just an expression of the process of finding answers to fundamental questions beyond the simple form of expression of natural phenomena. Since the Big Bang, the image that shines red alone on the blue background that has been passed down until now is the image of us connecting an era and an era. Life has an instinct to make balanced movements on its own. Through this instinct, in the world of time flowing into the past or future, you can see the prime meridian that only you can measure. My paintings record the process of reflection that emerges in our lives through this baseline. Now that I am working as an artist to express the fundamental approach to life, I hope that the moments of joy to be alive will continue.
나의 회화 작업에는 성찰의 과정을 기록하고 있다. 이 작업의 과정들은 인간의 삶과도 같아서 희로애락을 나타내기도 하고, 또는 스스로의 탐구 의지를 드러내기도 한다. 이는 단순한 자연적인 현상에 대한 표현 양식을 뛰어넘어 근원적인 질문에 대한 답을 찾아가는 과정의 표출일 따름이다. 빅뱅 이후, 지금껏 이어져 온 푸른 바탕에서 홀로 붉게 빛내고 있는 모습은 한 시대를 이어가는 우리의 모습이다. 삶은 스스로 균형적인 움직임을 하려는 본능이 있다. 이런 본능을 통해 과거 또는, 미래로 흐르는 시간의 세계에서는 자신만이 가늠할 수 있는 본초자오선을 보게 된다. 나의 그림은 이 기준선을 통해 우리의 삶 속에 드러나는 성찰의 과정을 기록하고 있다. 삶의 근원적인 접근을 표출하기 위해 작가 활동을 하고 있는 지금, 살아있음을 기뻐하는 순간들이 이어지기를 바란다.
The abstract images of blue light, which appear repeatedly in my work, contain questions about life and existence The energy waves of color generated by this blue light encompass the beginning and end of life, and contain an earnest wish to reawaken the value of life. Therefore, all works began with the question, ‘Where did the origin of life come from in the beginning?’ and generate numerous stories. And it contains the earnest hope that the process of this work will be unraveled continuously, and that it will awaken the value of life in all of us.
나의 작업에서 반복적으로 등장하는 푸른 빛의 추상적 이미지는 생명과 존재에 대한 질문을 담고 있다 이 푸른 빛이 생성해내는 색의 에너지 파동은 삶의 시작과 끝을 아우르며, 삶의 가치를 다시금 일깨우는 간절한 소망을 담고 있다. 그렇기에 ‘태초에 삶의 궤도는 어디서 비롯되었을까?’ 라는 이 질문으로부터 모든 작품은 시작되었고, 수많은 이야기를 생성하고 있다. 그리고 이런 작업의 과정을 연속으로 풀어내며 우리 모두의 삶의 가치를 일깨우기를 바라는 간절한 소망을 담고 있다.
