Ron Lambert – “Crossed Streams” (2014)
문화는 완벽의 개념을 추구한다. 우리가 환경을 통제할 수 있다고 믿고 조성해 나가는 모습을 보며 이를 깨달았다. 우리가 환경을 더 굴복시키려 하면 할 수록 우리가 도입한 시스템이 헛되다는 것을 깨달을 것이다. 이는 우리가 절차를 시작하고 탐구하면 할수록 문제가 발생하는 것과도 같다. 그것이 잘못된 생각이었다는 것을 인정하고 다시 시작하기보다 문제가 발생한 부분을 기워나간다. 이렇게 기워나가기를 반복하면서, 과정은 원래의 목적보다는 고치려는 시도가 된다. 결국 본래 계획의 목적 보다는 매워진 조각들이 더 아름다울런지도 모르겠다.
Culture aims its efforts toward a sense of perfection. I see this in how we scape our environment: by making it manicured we believe it is under control. The more we try to force our environment into submission, the more we are faced with the futility of imposing a system. My work is an attempt at beauty and perfection that understands the failure of that effort. I equate it to the way in which we start a process and once we are invested in it we find a problem. Instead of starting over and admitting the idea was unsuccessful, we put a patch over the issue. We start putting patches on patches and after a while the process is more about the attempts to repair than the original goal. In the end it might be the patches are more beautiful than the goal of the original plan.
Ron Lambert
비디오와 조각 작업을하며 Ron Lambert는 심리학과 환경의 교차점을 탐고한다. 그는 Alfred University 미술대학에서 미술석사 MFA를, University of Connecticut에서 미술학사 BFA 를 취득하였다. Ron은 현재 펜실베니아의 Bloomsburg University에서 교수로 제직 중이다. Ron은 미시건의 Urban Institute for Contemporary Art, 산 안토니오의 the Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum, 시에틀의 the Center on Contemporary Art, 코네티컷의 the New Britain Museum of Art을 비롯한 다수의 대학 갤러리에서 작품을 발표하였다. 그의 비디오 작업은 부다페스트 헝가리 Crosstalk Video Festival과 중국 베이징의 the Sanluan Yishu project 등에서 발표되었다. 그의 작품은 Vascovitz collection, the Swedish Medical Center, Tacoma Art Museum 등에 소장되어있다. 그는 네슈빌 테네시의 COOP collective 창립 멤버이다.
Working mainly in video and sculpture, Ron Lambert investigates the intersection between psychology and the environment. He received his MFA from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University, and his BFA from the University of Connecticut. Ron is currently an assistant professor at Bloomsburg University, in Pennsylvania. Ron has shown in galleries nationally, including the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art in Michigan, the Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum in San Antonio, the Center on Contemporary Art in Seattle, the New Britain Museum of Art in Connecticut, and several college and university galleries around the country. His videos have been screened internationally including the Crosstalk Video Festival in Budapest Hungary, and the Sanluan Yishu project in Beijing China. His work is in the Vascovitz collection, the Swedish Medical Center, and the collection of the Tacoma Art Museum. Ron is a founding member of the COOP collective in Nashville TN.
Blazo Kovacevic – “Probe” (2010)
Probe는 공항 검사대에서 화물을 검사하는 비디오 영상을 편집 없이 실시간으로 녹음한 영상이다. 비디오는 2010년 9월 6일 Atelier Dado gallery (National Museum of Montenegro, Montenegro)의 전시 오프닝에 상영되었다. 미술관 관객과 세르비아 베오그리드의 O3ONE space gallery 관객, 또한 많은 온라인 관객은 신원, 여행 계획이나 목적지를 모르는 불특정 여행자들의 사생활을 엿볼 수 있었다. 그보다 관객들은 여행자들의 가방의 내용물을 보면서 그들에 대해 상상해볼 수 있었다.
공항 터미널 입국 절차 중 출국 비행기 안에서 무기가 발견되었다는 보고가 있어 위급상황이 있었다. 비행기는 공항으로 우회하여 돌아왔으며 이 비디오 기록 영상은 가장 뜩밖의 군중인 “미술 관객들” 앞에서 재검사 된다.
이 해프닝이 있을 때, 본 영상의 기록 장소나 시간, 승객에 대한 정보는 비공개로 진행하였다. 작가는 승객의 신원이 비밀로 유지된다는 조건에서 본 영상의 상영을 허락받았다.
Probe: recorded live streaming of the airport screening is unedited video footage featuring baggage security inspection procedure, as it happened in the real time at the undisclosed international airport. This video was streamed live to the Atelier Dado gallery (National Museum of Montenegro, Montenegro) for the exhibition opening in September 6, 2010. Visitors of the museum gallery and O3ONE space gallery in Belgrade (Serbia) as well as many online viewers were able to peek into the privacy of random passengers, without knowing anything about their true identity, travel plans or origin. Rather, they had the opportunity to imagine persons and personalities, based solely on the content of their luggage.
During the set up procedure in the airport terminal there was an emergency as weapons were reported seen inside the departing plane. Flight was diverted back to the airport and this footage represents details of this thorough re-screening procedure, as it was performed live in front of the most unexpected public — art audience.
Disclaimer: For the duration of this happening, source location and identities of the passengers were kept secret. Artist has obtained special permission to record and broadcast this video while keeping passengers’ identities hidden.

Blazo Kovacevic (b. Podgorica, Montenegro) earned his B.F.A. in painting from the University of Montenegro in 1997, and his M.F.A. in painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2000. Incongruous social phenomena are reoccurring themes in his work; he is driven by a fascination with conflict. His work explores contradictory visual elements, and juxtaposes incompatible materials, ideas, behaviors, and technologies.
Kovacevic has received numerous awards for his work, and has been interviewed and reviewed in distinguished art publications and media. His work has been shown in both Europe and the United States in numerous solo and group exhibitions, most notably Context Art Miami, Miami, FL; Sightliness, Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts, Binghamton, NY; Biennale Internationale de la gravure de Sarcelles, Sarcelles, France; Utopia Station at the 50th Venice Biennial, Italy; and numerous iterations of the project Probe in venues such as Atelier Dado, National Museum of Montenegro, Cetinje, Montenegro; and the 2012 PULSE Art and Technology Festival, Telfair’s Museum Jepson Center, Savannah, GA. He participated in SOFA, at the Seventh Regiment Armory, New York City, NY, and the Art in Embassies Program, at the US Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia. For years he has exhibited his drawings and interactive projects at the Gallery Chaos, Belgrade, Serbia. Artwork by Kovacevic is found in private collections as well as in diverse corporate and museum collections, such as the Library of Congress, Washington, DC; the permanent collection of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA; and Independence Blue Cross, Philadelphia, PA and AmeriHealth of Philadelphia, PA. In addition to his own work, Kovacevic has curated several exhibitions and organized the first International Festival of Digital Arts in Montenegro. He is currently assistant professor of art and design at Binghamton University (SUNY).
Nina Schipoff – “64°n” (2015)

Nina Schipoff
Nina Schipoff는 1963년 구서독의 수도 본에서 출생하였으며 스위스 제네바를 기반으로 회화, 비디오, 사진 작업을 하고있다. 그녀는 Visual Arts from the Geneva University of Art and Design을 졸업하였으며 Geneva School of Stage Set Design에서 회화 전공으로 postgraduate certificate를 취득하였다.
Nina Schipoff ( 1963, Bonn, Federal Republic of Germany) is an artist based in Geneva, Switzerland, working in painting, video and photography. She graduated in Visual Arts from the Geneva University of Art and Design and received a postgraduate certificate in painting from the Geneva School of Stage Set Design.
