In Transit
The exhibition reflects on how relocation reshapes us in ways we may not fully realize. Moving between places is more than a change of geography. It shifts our identity, memory, and perception. For many of us, international artists living in Korea, this passage carries different meanings, each of us bringing our own histories, struggles, and discoveries into a shared space. We arrive with luggage, both physical and emotional, filled with stories of who we were and who we are becoming. Through these works, we explore how movement transforms us, revealing new ways of how we see ourselves and the country we now call home.
In Transit는 우리가 의식하지 못하는 방식으로도 이주(장소의 이동, 사는 곳의 변화)가 우리를 어떻게 변화시키는지에 대해 성찰합니다. 장소를 옮긴다는 것은 단순히 지리적 이동 뿐만이 아니라, 정체성·기억·인식의 변화를 의미합니다. 한국에 살고 있는 많은 국제 예술가들에게 이 ‘이동’은 각기 다른 의미를 지니며, 각자가 가진 역사와 어려움, 그리고 발견을 공유의 공간으로 가져옵니다. 우리는 짐과 함께 도착하고, 때로는 그 짐이 물리적인 짐이기도 하고, 감정적인 짐이기도 하며, 우리가 과거에 어떤 사람이었고 또 어떤 사람으로 변해가는지에 대한 여러 조각들로 채워져 있습니다. 이번 작업들을 통해 우리는 이동이라는 것이 우리를 어떻게 깊이 있게 변화시키는지, 그리고 그것이 우리 자신과 우리가 살아가는 나라를 새롭게 바라보게 하는지를 경험하고 드러내 보이고자 합니다.
In Artist Collective (IAC) is an international, community-driven collective of artists based in Korea, with members from diverse cultural and creative backgrounds. The group provides opportunities for artists to exhibit their work, collaborate on projects, and connect with wider audiences through exhibitions and partnerships with organizations such as CICA Museum, INAS Art Show, Incheon Global Campus and cultural institutions.
인 아티스트 컬렉티브(IAC) 는 한국을 기반으로 활동하는 커뮤니티 중심의 국제적인 예술 단체로, 다양한 문화적·창작적 배경을 가진 회원들과 함께하고 있습니다. IAC는 이들이 작품을 전시하고, 프로젝트에 협업하며, 더 넓은 관객들과 소통할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다. 또한 CICA 미술관, INAS 아트쇼, 인천글로벌캠퍼스 및 여러 문화 기관들과의 협력을 통해 활동을 이어가고 있습니다.
