On the Way
The series “On the Way (2023)” consisting of “Feminastrum”, “Lepidofin” and “Tridenfrustrans” have interconnected storylines between each. The work explores the boundaries of fear, entrapment, and exploitation of the female form. The visceral sensations brought about by these dynamics manifest as flesh-like structures and find expression in repetitive rhythmic behaviors. Each of the three independent works in the series “On the Way” reverberates with its unique harmony vehicle, remaining connected by the overarching questions. “Feminastrum” is a constructed deity, willing to sacrifice for the greater good and have a beautiful existence, but in actuality, she is being coerced into her role. “Lepidofin” has a fish-like body that suggests she belongs in another ecosystem, but her legs are cemented to the ground, symbolizing that her potential is restricted. “Tridenfrustrans” is probably the least feminine work in this series and seeks salvation, questioning the constructed narrative of a higher deity. Feminastrum, Lepidofin, and Tridenfrustrans are three trembling creatures. They are all potential victims who seem able to fight for a weak little initiative or are given such power but always wander in fear of greater authority.
