We Move Together / Room of Memories
Unconditional love that cannot be fully shared in a physical parent-child relationship during life, love as an existence itself. However, as the artist’s painting progresses, a point of convergence is formed between the two. Beyond our consciousness, there is a place of love that can never be damaged.
Art is born in that place, and eventually, with the help of art, the father and daughter who have returned to the sky first gaze at each other side by side. The daughter looks at the father, and the father looks at the daughter forever. As the painting is created, they are actually moving together. The unresolved sadness of the father is eased through the painting, and his presence shifts to a brighter space.
The daughter accepts the sadness as it is, drawing it out and expressing her countless layered emotions for her father through colors painted over the backdrop of her childhood. In this process, healing occurs for both of them. Gradually, the daughter’s presence also moves into a brighter space.
우리는 같이 움직인다 / 기억의 방
육신의 부모 자식 관계로 만나 살아있는 동안 충분히 나누지 못하는 무조건적인 사랑, 존재 자체로서의 사랑. 그러나 화가의 그림이 완성되어가는 동안 두 사람의 교합지점이 생겨난다. 결코 훼손되지 않는 사랑의 장소가 우리의 의식 너머에 있다. 예술은 그 장소에서 탄생하고, 결국 먼저 하늘로 돌아간 아버지와 딸은 예술의 힘을 빌어 나란히 두 눈을 마주 본다. 딸은 아버지를, 아버지는 딸을 영원히 바라보고 있다. 그림이 그려지는 동안 사실 그들은 같이 움직인다. 아버지의 풀리지 않은 슬픔이 그림을 통해 해소되고, 아버지의 존재는 밝은 공간으로 이동한다. 딸은 그 슬픔을 고스란히 받아 그려내고 아버지에 대한 무수히 많은 겹의 감정을 중첩되어 나타나는 유년시절 배경과 덧대어 칠해지는 색감으로 드러낸다. 그 과정에서 두 사람 모두에게 치유가 일어난다. 딸의 존재도 조금씩 더 밝은 공간으로 이동한다.
The Artist creates a world of innocence despite the passage of time being a factor. She channels joyful childhood memories with her father to create pieces that may warmly caress feelings of loneliness. Her use of both mild and intense colors expresses the anxiety and conflicts that people today may face. Through her work, she reinterprets the inner mindset of people through various psychological themes, in particular using shapes of house and eyes to exemplify feelings of sorrow and a sense of longing.
본 작가는 시간적 요소와 무관하게 동심의 세계를 이끌어냈다. 그녀는 유년시절 아버지의 행복했던 추억을 통해 사람들이 겪고 있는 외로움을 따뜻하게 어루만져주는 작품을 이어오고 있다. 작가는 현대인들이 겪는 심리적 갈등과 불안함을 강렬한 혹은 온화한 색채를 사용해 작품으로 표현했다. 특히 집과 눈의 형상을 통해 슬픔과 그리움의 메시지를 전달하고 있으며, 이 외에도 다양한 심리적 소재를 통해 인간의 내면을 재해석하여 꾸준히 작업에 반영하고 있다.
