Circulation inspiration
작업은 작가의 내적인 세계와 외부의 세계를 연결하는 매개체로서 작용한다. 인간의 내면세계는 끝없이 변화하기에 자기 자신조차도 그 세계에 대해 완전히 알지 못한다. 그러한 자신의 세계를 진실되게 시각화하여 보여주는 것이 바로 작품이라고 생각한다. 나 자신조차 규정하고 구체화시킬 수 없었던 생각들을 시각화하는 과정에서 작가 또한 자신에 대해 더욱 깊게 생각하고 이해할 수 있게 된다. 외부의 세계로부터 우리가 보고 느낀 모든 것들은 <나>라는 filter를 통해 걸러지고, 시각화 되며 그것은 마치 생태계의 순환처럼 또 다시 외부세계의 일부가 된다.
My work is a medium that connects my inside with the outside. Inside of human changes endlessly. So even I can’t fully understand my inner self. I think that a work truly visualizes and shows one’s own world. In the process of visualizing thoughts that even I could not define and embody, the artist also becomes able to think more deeply about and understand self. Everything we see and feel from the outside world is filtered and visualized through a filter called <I> like a cycle of ecosystems.
평면, 입체, 설치, 미디어 작업을 하고 주제는 주변의 모든 것들이다. 자연과 그리고 인간, 나와 우리의 생각들, 매일의 삶에서 느끼는 작고 소중한 그리고 인생을 관통하는 원대한 꿈들. 이러한 것들에 대해 생각해보고 표현하고자 한다.
Flat Surface, 3D, installation and media works are from all around the surrounding of me. The dreams of nature and human, thoughts, and a daily life. I want to work with and about these things.
미디어 작업 I은 끝없이 움직이는 물결에서 순간과 영속이 공존하고 있는 듯한 irony를 표현하고자 하였다. 강은 늘 그 자리에 있지만 그 속을 채우고 있는 물은 어제와 오늘이 같지 않기에 오늘 보는 강은 어제와 같은 강이면서 또한 다른 강이기도 하다. 생명의 탄생과 죽음 모두 포용하는 강물의 움직임은 그 자체로 지적능력을 가진 하나의 유기체를 보는 듯하다.
In Media Work I, I tried to express the irony that moment and perpetuity coexist in the endless moving waves. The river is always there, but the water filling it is not the same as yesterday and today, so the river you see today is the same river as yesterday and another river. The movement of the river, which embraces both the birth and death of life, seems to see an organism with intellectual capacity.
미디어 작업 II는 이제는 재건축으로 사라져버린 커다란 고목 벚나무에서 떨어지는 꽃잎을 표현한 작업이다. 50여년의 세월동안 많은 사람들의 삶의 보금자리였던 아파트는 낡고 오래되어 철거를 앞두고 있지만 처음 지어져 새 아파트였던 시절, 작은 벚나무였을 나무는 긴 세월동안 높고 커다란 벚나무가 되었다. 커다란 벚나무는 아름다운 수많은 꽃송이들을 달고 바람에 몸을 맡겨 꽃잎을 흩날리고 있다. 영원히 기억할 아름다운 봄날…
Media Work II is a work that expresses petals falling from a large old cherry tree that has now disappeared due to reconstruction. Apartment buildings, which have been the home of many people’s lives for more than 50 years, are old and about to be demolished, but when they were first built and new apartments, these that used to be small and tiny became tall and big cherry trees for a long time. The large cherry tree is wearing numerous beautiful flowers and fluttering petals in the wind. A beautiful spring day to remember forever…
원윤선(Won Yoonsun)은 이화여자대학교 조형예술대학과 대학원에서 회화 및 판화를 전공했으며 한양대학교 사범대학에서 미술교육 박사과정을 수료했다. 대학강의와 여러 공모전, 초대전 등의 활동을 하며 연구와 작업을 이어오고 있다.
Won Yoon-sun majored in painting and printing at the Graduate School of Art at Ewha Womans University and completed a Ph.D. in art education at Hanyang University’s College of Education. It has continued research and work by conducting activities such as university lectures, various institutional exhibitions, and invitation exhibitions.
