1. 아이패드의 구글 번역기 어플리케이션 실행.
2. 입력창을 터치하고 자판의 음성인식기능 Siri 실행.
3. Siri 에게 자장가를 불러 준다.
4. Siri가 받아 적은 자장가를 번역기 어플리케이션의 읽어주기 기능으로 재생.
5. 음악 어플리케이션 실행하여 음원 ‘잘자라 우리아가’ 재생.
6. 눈을 감고 Siri가 되불러주는 자장가를 감상.

Jisoo Chung 정지수 

Jisoo Chung brings her in [Family Messenger(2014)] as a mediator between family members. She tries to reconcile conflicts by writing a letter but as the letters are just a monologue, it still shows an ungratified gap between members’ relationships through the undelivered messages. In [Lullaby(2016)], participant reads a lullaby to Siri(iphone) and again listens to the lullaby of Siri’s. In the process, duration of written words and incorrect translations provide a question of how much we can share the same language with AI. The artist majored in Fine Art at Seoul National University and joined some group shows , .

정지수는 패밀리 메신저(2014)에서 가족간의 갈등을 중재하는 역할로 등장한다. 스스로를 매개자로 상정하고 화해를 유도하지만 독백의 형태로 제시된 편지는 채우기 어려운 관계의 틈, 완전하게 전달되지 못한 메세지를 나타낸다. 자장가(2016)는 참여자가 Siri에게 자장가를 직접 노래해주고, 다시 Siri가 낭독해주는 자장가를 감상하는 과정을 보여준다. Siri의 음성 인식의 과정에서 생기는 시간의 간극과 더듬거림, 그리고 변형된 결과물은 우리가 얼마만큼 인공지능과 같은 언어를 공유 할 수 있을까하는 의문을 남긴다. 작가는 서울대학교에서 서양화과를 전공하였으며 우석홀 갤러리에서 <우석HOLE:전시가 되는 공간2013>, <일일연속극은 지겨워2014> 단체전에 참여했다.
